The last few months have been very challenging for many people and although there are things which are still going to be tough I want to recognise the tremendous work that the queens club committee, parents and players have done by supporting our online offer and helping to get the club back open and on court again.
We couldn’t get the club up and running as quickly without this support.
Just one example of the dedication and support was our current club Captian Kieran Brookes who agreed to carry on for an extra year to help with transition during this period. This means attending monthly meetings and advising on many areas. Not only has Kieran attended these meetings his input has been invaluable.
Rachel Theedom and Sarah Preece have also been instrumental to insure that the club returns safely during this period of time by liaising with our national governing body of sport Badminton England and ensuring that processes and practices are implemented.
We are keen to get our adult club back and operating as soon as the government allows us to and facilities currently closed open again.
Finally, I have been involved in Queens Badminton Club for many years. Yet watching the hard work and effort put in recently has been greater than anything done before during the most challenging of times.
